How COVID-19 will impact the UK economy compared to other countries

The International Monetary Fund has warned that the global economic impact of coronavirus will be worse than first feared, with some countries expected to fare better than others.

A previous forecast that the world faced its biggest slump since the Great Depression has been downgraded still further.

European nations that suffered high COVID-19 death tolls - including the UK - are among those set for the sharpest contractions.
